US Tariffs

In the period 19 May to 1 June 2025 business that had not permanently stopped trading were asked what impact, if any, United States tariff changes had on their business in the last month. Businesses were also asked about expected impacts next month. Please note most responses to the BICS were received before the US supreme court ruling on reciprocal tariffs on 29 May. 

US tariffs impacted an estimated 11.3% of businesses in the last month. The most commonly reported impact was that the business experienced additional costs, an estimated 6.5% of businesses were impacted in this way.
