Awaab's Law: Guidance for landlords in Scotland
This guidance is intended to assist social and private landlords to comply with
their duties under the Investigation and Commencement of Repair (Scotland) Regulations 2026 which come into force on 6 October 2026.
Annex B: Temporary accommodation
The 2026 Regulations apply to temporary accommodation that falls under the Right to Repair Scheme or the Repairing Standard. While temporary accommodation not covered by the Right to Repair Scheme or Repairing Standard are not subject to the statutory duties set out in the 2026 Regulations, we would encourage social landlords to apply this guidance to their wider temporary accommodation stock as best practice.
