Support for part-time study and disabled students: consultation analysis - easy read version

Introduction

In 2025 the Scottish Government did a consultation to ask people questions about the support available for part time and disabled students. We also wanted ideas for improvements.

A consultation is when the government asks people for their views before making changes to a law or policy, or when making a new one.

The consultation had 3 parts:

1. Public consultation

Students, parents, carers and education organisations answered questions on a survey online. We got 581 responses.

2. Meeting with people who had an interest

We held 10 meetings with education organisations and students.

3. Research with students

37 students were asked questions. This was done to find out about their experience of support available for part-time study, distance learning and disabled students.
