Regulatory Review Group
Overview
The independent Regulatory Review Group (RRG) was set up in December 2004 to promote and develop an environment where both business and government work together to promote better regulation and sustainable economic growth.
It does this by:
- advising ministers on all aspects of Better Regulation from a business and regulatory perspective
- providing a forum for discussion and advise actions to resolve unexpected barriers on regulations that cause Scottish businesses concern
- feeding into processes to improve the regulatory landscape
- providing the Scottish Government with practical and pragmatic implementation advice from regulators early in the process to understand enforcement and compliance expectations
- acting as an independent and informed judge of the Scottish Government and its regulatory agencies' Better Regulation performance
Relaunch
The RRG has been refreshed and was relaunched in autumn 2023 as recommended in the New Deal for Business Group Report. It was paused during COVID.
