Register of Community Interest in Land

The Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 provides that The Keeper of the Registers of Scotland (RoS) should set up and maintain a Register of Community Interests in Land (RCIL). The Act also stipulates the information that must be contained in the RCIL.

Anyone accessing the RCIL will be able to see all community body applications and their supporting documents.  The current status of each case is also shown and each application will have a unique case number. The register can be searched using the application number, community body name, and county where the land is registered etc.

Searching the register is free of charge.

PDF attachments showing the relevant documentation (such as Ministerial decisions) are included within each case. These can then be viewed and printed, if required. (Please note that some documents may not be included on the RCIL, due to Data Protection.  If you wish to view any of these documents please contact the Community Land Team).
