Whole Family Support Through General Practice: equality impact assessment
Equality impact assessment of the Whole Family Support Through General Practice Project.
Recommendations and Conclusion
The EQIA process has identified that the Whole Family Support through General Practice project has potential to have positive impacts for those who have protected characteristics due to associations between some characteristics and health inequalities and socio-economic status. The main risks to the desired outcomes being achieved are:
- the capacity of the General Practice workforce and the wider landscape of community support services who are also involve in the project;
- funding timescales (at the time of the project is only has 2 years funding);
- awareness and understanding of the Project amongst participating practices.
Work is already underway to make sure that good links with other services and wider Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT) are made including Community Link Workers and Welfare Advice Workers. This will help show the benefits and to make sure that awareness and understanding of the project are increased.
This multi-disciplinary approach will allow a holistic service for families and will support them to achieve their goals.
