Prison population: physical health care needs

Research into physical health challenges experienced by people in prison. One of four studies on the health needs of Scotland's prison population.

The research team are grateful to all those individuals that gave valuable time to provide their insights and perspectives on physical health care needs and provision within the Scottish Prison Service. We particularly wish to extend our thanks to those individuals who shared their, or their family members, lived experiences of physical health care in prison. Thanks also go to the group of stakeholder participants for their time and thoughtful contributions to this project.

The research team would also like to acknowledge the contributions of Susan Elliott and Joshua Stuart-Bennett, both of whom provided research support throught the project. Thank you both for your flexibility, timeliness, and professionalism.

Finally, the research team extends their thanks to the members of the Lived Experience Panel convened for the national needs assessments, the project's Research Advisory Group, and Dr Ian MacNeill, Senior Research Officer for the Scottish Government, for their support, guidance and feedback.
