Towards a Scottish Minimum Digital Living Standard: Phase 2

This report documents findings from the second phase of research into the use of a Minimum Digital Living Standard (MDLS) for Scotland, building upon the interim report with further engagement with stakeholders and families via surveys and interviews.

Acknowledgements

We would like to thank the staff in the Scottish organisations, especially the families who took part in the interviews, for so generously giving their time and sharing their views and experiences with us. We are most grateful to our colleagues at Glasgow Life, Homestart Wigtownshire, Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway and The Crichton Trust for helping us recruit families. We also appreciate SCVO, particularly Sally Dyson, for being instrumental in recruiting stakeholder participants for the research.

We would also like to thank our numerous academic and work colleagues who have served as sounding boards and critical friends for our efforts. Lastly, we would like to express our gratitude to our colleagues at the Scottish Government, particularly those in the Connecting Scotland Programme and the Digital Ethics and Inclusion teams.

We are grateful for the funding support provided by the Scottish Government for this project, as well as for the support of the Nuffield Foundation and Nominet for the UK-wide research to develop a UK Minimum Digital Living Standard (MDLS). The views expressed are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect those of the Scottish Government, Nuffield Foundation, or Nominet.
