What happens to the information you provide

ScotCen will use the information collected from you and other participants in the survey, interviews and focus groups to write a report for the Scottish Government, which will be published on the Scottish Government’s website in late summer 2024. The Scottish Government and ScotCen will not publish anything or produce any outputs that can reveal your identity or the institutions participating in the study. The information you provide will be used for research purposes only and is dealt with in accordance with data protection legislation; the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

All data collected will be stored securely by ScotCen in a secure folder. Only the research team of named individuals at ScotCen will have access to your personal data.

ScotCen will not pass your personal details to anybody without your permission, including to the Scottish Government, Student Awards Agency Scotland or your college or university.  The only exception to this is if a participant discloses that they or someone else is at immediate risk of harm. In this instance, ScotCen will follow their disclosure policy.
