The Scottish Shelf Model ( SSM) contract was funded by the Scottish Government.

The FVCOM model has been developed by the Marine Ecosystem Dynamics Modeling Laboratory at the School for Marine Science and Technology, University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, led by Dr Changsheng Chen. We would like to acknowledge Dr Chen for authorising the project team to use FVCOM for the development of the Scottish Shelf Model.

We would like to thank the SSM Steering Group for their contribution. In particular, Tracy McCollin (Marine Scotland) as the Project Manager, John Debenham (CH2M HILL) and Alan Hills (Scottish Environment Protection Agency). Daniel Pendrey and Kate Smith (Marine Scotland) and Andrew Berkeley ( SEPA) also participated in the Steering Group. We also wish to acknowledge the contribution of Fiona McLay, Maurice McCabe, Ilektra Apostololidou and Elysia Ward (CH2M HILL).

The Grid2Grid freshwater runoff data were supplied under contract by the Centre for Ecology and Hydrography. We would like to thank Robert Moore and his colleagues at CEH for those data.
