Correction
A correction was published on 23rd July 2025 after errors were found in the time series analysis, caused by duplicate record IDs in the 2013 and 2023 datasets. The correction affects the 2013 and 2023 statistics on satisfaction with schools for service users. Changes have been made to the HTML, word document and supporting tables.

In 2023, 69% of adults were satisfied with local schools, the same as in 2022.

Satisfaction with schools has generally decreased over time since the peak of 85% in 2011.

Satisfaction with local schools differed over Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation (SIMD) quintiles, increasing from 66% in the 20% most deprived areas to 75% in the 20% least deprived areas.
- As with previous years, service users were more satisfied with local schools (83%) than the whole adult population (69%) in 2023.
- Although satisfaction with schools for service users is similar to 2022 (85%), it is the lowest it has been since the start of the time series in 2007/2008.
