Survey background

This is an annual exercise carried out by ScotXed to prepare for our Early Learning and Childcare census. We wish to identify which centres in your local authority provide funded or partly funded Early Learning and Childcare and will be providing ELC on census week. Returns are to be submitted via ProcXed.

2026 survey

The Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) Pre-census Survey will be live from Monday 25 May, with a submission date of Friday 10 July. The data you provide will be used to establish the centres that we communicate with as part of the main census. ELC census week will be 7 to 11 September 2026. 

To simplify the process, information has been pre-populated, where data from last year is available.  Please use the online form to make any amendments and 'Submit' when complete.
