Scotland's Land Use Strategy Annual Progress Report – 2024/2025

Sixth annual progress report on Scotland's land use strategy, as required under Section 37A of the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009. It covers the period of March 2023 to March 2024.

  • £3.2 million to support crofters through the Crofting Agricultural Grant Scheme
  • More than 10,000 hectares of damaged peatland has been restored
  • Awards totalling over £27 million were issued to over 517 farmers and crofters from the Agri-Environment Climate Scheme
  • In 2024/25 Scotland created 8,470 hectares of new forest or woodland, representing 54% of all UK new woodland creation
  • The Agriculture and Rural Communities (Scotland) Act was passed by Parliament
  • £0.3 million awarded through the Knowledge Transfer and Innovation Fund
  • Scotland’s first National Flood Resilience Strategy is published
