Scotland’s Cladding Remediation Programme monthly management information: March 2026

This report presents management information for Scotland’s Cladding Remediation Programme to provide an indication of progress on a monthly basis.

Financial information

As at 31 March 2026, the Cladding Remediation Programme’s expenditure for the financial year 2025/26 was £5.3 million, bringing the total expenditure from financial year 2021/22 to financial year 2025/26 to £17.5 million. This includes capital spend, waking watch costs and professional advice (both legal and accounting), but excludes general staff operating costs. Since accruals are still being processed, the final financial year total may still change slightly: accruals record revenues and expenses when they are earned or incurred, regardless of when payments occurs.

From 2025/2026 onwards, the Scottish Government is supporting local authorities in progressing the commissioning of Single Building Assessments (SBAs) and, where necessary, implementing appropriate mitigation measures. In January 2026, as part of the Spring Budget Revision, an additional £15.4 million was transferred to Local Authorities to fund SBAs and associated mitigation measures in relation to expressions of interest made via the Single Open Call. In March 2026, a further £16.1 million was transferred, bringing the total amount transferred to Local Authorities to £31.5 million.

Glasgow City Local Authority did not receive any funding because it transferred its social housing stock to Registered Social Landlords in 2003.
