Scotland’s Cladding Remediation Programme monthly management information: March 2026

This report presents management information for Scotland’s Cladding Remediation Programme to provide an indication of progress on a monthly basis.


Key points

Scottish Government funded assessment and remediation:

  • As at 31 March 2026, 1,799 expressions of interest had been submitted via the Single Open Call. Of these 946 had been identified as likely to be eligible for Scottish Government funding for an SBA, 832 had been identified as ineligible and 21 had not undergone initial eligibility checks.
  • As at 31 March 2026, the Cladding Remediation Programme had provided Local Authorities with funding to carry out SBAs in relation to 376 expressions of interest. Offers of funding had also been issued to Registered Social Landlords and factors or property managers in relation to a further 138 and 13 expressions of interest respectively.
  • As at 31 March 2026, the Cladding Remediation Programme had been informed that Scottish Government funded SBAs were underway for 149 buildings. Of these, over two thirds were in Glasgow City, and in terms of height, 89 (60%) related to buildings that were estimated to be 18m or over and 60 (40%) were estimated to be 11-18m.
  • As at 31 March 2026, 16 Scottish Government funded SBAs had been completed, which had not changed since September 2025.
  • As at 31 March 2026, the Cladding Remediation Programme was aware that remediation work was underway in three buildings.

Developer funded assessment and remediation:

  • As at 31 March 2026, six developers had signed the Developer Remediation Contract and two had submitted data for their buildings.
  • SBAs were underway for four of Persimmon’s five buildings, and an SBA had been completed for the other. The completed SBA identified recommendations for remediation work, and this work had started. Remediation work had also started for one building where the SBA was still underway.
  • As at 31 March 2026, Bellway Homes had reported that SBAs were underway for 17 of their 18 buildings.

Financial information:

  • As at 31 March 2026, the Cladding Remediation Programme’s expenditure for the financial year 2025/26 was £5.3 million, bringing the total expenditure from financial year 2021/22 to financial year 2025/26 to £17.5 million.
  • As at 31 March 2026, an additional £31.5 million had been transferred to Local Authorities to fund SBAs and associated mitigation measures in relation to expressions of interest made via the Single Open Call.
