This report presents management information for Scotland’s Cladding Remediation Programme to provide an indication of progress on a monthly basis.
Part of
Data, methodology and limitations
The summary Management Information (MI) presented in this report is based on data collected by the Cladding Remediation Directorate in the normal course of business to deliver the Cladding Remediation Programme.
The information included in this publication is based on operational data. This means that although we work to ensure the numbers are as accurate as possible, they may be subject to change based on changes to operational processes, definitions, and/or available information at a point in time. We are continually working with data suppliers to highlight areas where improvements can and/or need to be made. This includes improvements relating to processes and assurance measures used to record the data that is used to produce this publication, to improve its quality.
Additionally, the information provided in this publication does not provide the complete picture of progress to mitigate cladding fire safety risk in Scotland. In terms of assessment of buildings, this release only reports on the progress of Single Building Assessments (SBAs) and therefore does not include information on other types of assessment carried out prior to the publication of the SBA specification in June 2024. Some developers and other organisations, including social landlords, have carried out assessments (that are not SBAs based on the specification published in June 2024) and/or remedial work that is not reported on here.
Prior to the release of data for January 2026, reporting was based on internal Cladding Remediation Programme information only, with a focus on expressions of interest submitted via the Single Open Call, which was launched in March 2025.
Two new data sources are now contributing to the information presented in this and future releases. Monthly data reporting on progress is being collected from organisations who are receiving Scottish Government funding as a result of successful expressions of interest made for buildings via the Single Open Call. Data reporting on progress is also being collected from Persimmon Homes, the first developer in Scotland to sign the Developer Remediation Contract. An initial data return was reported to Scottish Government within 30 days of signing the contract, and they will report progress on a quarterly basis going forward. Other developers who sign the Developer Remediation Contract in due course will follow the same reporting schedule.
The format in which the information is presented in this release has therefore changed to reflect the supporting mechanisms through which progress is being made on assessment and remediation: either Scottish Government funding, or funding from developers who have signed the Developer Remediation Contract.
Response rates in respect of monthly data returns from organisations receiving Scottish Government funding via the Single Open Call are likely to vary over time and so information on progress being made in respect of Scottish Government funded assessment and remediation presented in this release is based on available data reported at a specific point in time.
Buildings and addresses associated with them are self-reported by developers and by applicants to the Single Open Call. As a result, they might include parts of buildings, single blocks, multiple blocks or large developments, depending on aspects such as the complexity of the structures and ownership. Additionally, this means the number of expressions of interest made to the Single Open Call and reported on in this series of MI releases is likely to be different to the final number of SBAs carried out.
