Scotland’s Carbon Footprint 1998-2022
Estimates of Scotland's greenhouse gas emissions on a consumption basis for the period 1998 to 2022.
CO2 is the main greenhouse gas in Scotland’s carbon footprint. It accounted for 76.3 per cent of Scotland’s total carbon footprint in 2022, up from 72.6 in 1998. Between 2021 and 2022, Scotland’s carbon dioxide footprint from all sources increased by 1.5 per cent.
