Rural Support Plan (RSP) - consultation statement
The Rural Support Plan as required in terms of s2 of the Agriculture and Rural Communities (Scotland) Act 2024 outlining the expected use by Scottish Ministers during the plan period of the powers conferred on them by s6 of the Act - statement describing the consultation as required by s4(5)
Consultation undertaken in respect of the Rural Support Plan
Consultation was undertaken on the Rural Support Plan via online meetings as follows:-
- Policy Development Group (PDG) (20th October 2025)
- Scottish Crofting Federation (23rd October 2025)
- National Farmers Union Scotland (NFUS) (27th October 2025)
- Scottish Environment Link (SE Link), Stop Climate Chaos Scotland, RSPB Scotland, British Veterinary Association, Scottish Agroecological Partnership (29th October 2025)
- Food Standards Scotland, Historic Environment Scotland, Scottish Environment Protection Agency, NatureScot (formally Scottish Natural Heritage), Scottish Food Commission (ARC Act s4(2) statutory consultees) (3rd November 2025)
- Agriculture Reform Implementation Oversight Board (ARIOB) (5th November 2025)
- Food and Agriculture Stakeholder Taskforce (FAST) (10th November 2025)
- Ramblers Scotland (8th December 2025)
Consultees were issued with the draft Rural Support Plan in advance and invited to provide feedback at the meeting and following in writing, should they wish to do so.
