Police Appeals Tribunal transfer to Scottish Tribunals structure regulations: island communities impact assessment
This publication covers the island communities impact assessment ("ICIA") for the regulations to transfer the Police Appeals Tribunal into the Scottish Tribunals structure.
Assessment
The proposal to transfer the PAT into the Scottish Tribunals structure is not anticipated to have a significant impact on island communities. The regulations aim to transfer an existing tribunal and will assist in ensuring greater coherence across the Scottish Tribunals landscape. The members and functions of the existing tribunal will be transferred, with provision being made for updated procedure rules for the First-tier Tribunal and regulations outlining the composition of the First-tier and Upper Tribunal when hearing police appeal cases.
The transfer is therefore administrative in nature and is not likely to have an effect on an island community which is significantly different from its effect on other communities.
