Residential Rehabilitation Services: recommendations on clinical governance
This report summarises the findings and recommendations of the Future of Residential Rehabilitation Working Group on the improvement of clinical governance of Residential Rehabilitation Services in Scotland
Methodology
The Clinical Governance Subgroup convened between May and December 2025. Evidence was gathered through review of Scottish Government mapping exercises and national datasets; expert presentations from regulators, clinicians, providers, and stakeholders; lived experience accounts; and analysis of relevant guidance (NICE, GMC, UK Clinical Management Guidelines, HIS draft standards). Recommendations were developed through iterative discussion and consensus within the subgroup and approved by the Future of Residential Rehabilitation Working Group (FRRWG).
