Scotland's Public Sector Clean Heat Development Fund: how to apply
This grant supports public sector organisations to develop heat network and off-gas-grid clean heat projects.

The closing date for applications is 9 September 2026. Projects must be completed by 31 March 2027.
This fund supports public sector organisations in Scotland to develop clean heat projects. Funding is provided by the Scottish Government.
What the funding is for
You can apply for project development funding under 2 themes:
- feasibility and potential costs of connecting public sector buildings to existing heat networks in designated heat network zones
- feasibility and potential costs of decarbonising heat sources in public sector buildings that are off the gas grid
Eligible activities may include the development of feasibility studies, options appraisals, business cases and technical assessments relating to these themes. The fund does not support existing staff costs, capital works, building energy audits, carbon management strategies, or estate management strategies.

Public sector organisations in Scotland, including local authorities, universities and Scottish Government bodies.

Up to £30,000 per application.
