Conciliation and arbitration

Following registration of a Failure to Agree in relation to 2024/25 officer pay by the Staff Side on 29 October, and per the PNBS Constitution, we entered Stage 1 conciliation, led by the PNBS Chair. As this did not resolve the dispute, on 28 November we moved to Stage 2 conciliation with Acas and the sides did not achieve a resolution. On 17 December the matter was referred to Acas arbitration.

The sides agreed the Terms of Reference for arbitration with a hearing scheduled to take place in January 2025. Both sides are committed to respecting and implementing the outcome of the arbitration decision and process.

Following conclusion of the 2024/25 pay negotiations, the PNBS will review the conciliation and arbitration processes.
