Information sharing

We've shared information and updates on this commitment in a number of different ways - some of these can be found below.

Data:

With statistics.gov.scot, we have published over 280 Official Statistics as 5* linked open datasets.   Linked open data means that each data point and dataset which is produced has a permanent hyperlink, which can be reused.  This means that it is possible to link data to other data to provide context.

From this, interactive maps and dashboards can be produced; for instance Scottish Household Survey app, the GDP app, and the Scottish Centre for Regional Inclusive Growth dashboard have been built directly from statistics.gov.scot and are automatically and programmatically updated when the latest data become available.

Within the Scottish Surveys Core Questions Official Statistics publication published by the Scottish Government, we have automatically provided users to live data on the statistics.gov.scot in the form of prepared 2 dimensional tables.

We are also aware of a number of relevant apps and dashboards which have been built in response to the COVID-19 crisis directly from public open data; for example, the Public Health Scotland COVID-19 dashboard and Scottish Tech Army's COVID-19 statistics dashboard
