Engagement

Delivery of this commitment has included engagement with the public and civil society organisations in numerous different ways. Some of these are detailed below.

Develop cohesive guidance and practice on participation

During the creation of the Participation Framework, round tables were held with representatives from organisations focussed on disability and race equality, feeding into the advice on inclusion within the framework.

As the focus of participation work shifted to Covid, an Expert Advisory group was formed, the membership of which can be viewed on our website.

Several working groups were established to help to shape the strategic approach to participation specific to children and young people. These groups included academics, representatives from third sector organisations covering the age range 0-18 years, and children and young people. A consultation was also carried out as part of this work, which received 472 responses from the public and organisations.

Experimenting with Attitudes to Openess

Events were hosted in collaboration with civil society partners, and enabled engagement with a wide range of members of the public around the opportunities presented by working more openly

Exploring deliberative and participatory methods through specific examples of active work
