Implementation Plan

The New Deal for Business Implementation Plan^[4] published in Oct 2023 set out recommendations and delivery over the 18-month programme timescale. The Group agreed six overarching outcomes^[5] around which individual actions were grouped and prioritised. This improved the visibility of progress against the main objectives of the New Deal for Business and addressed some overlap in recommendations across Subgroups. From the outset it was clear that the ambition of the programme, and the cultural and organisational change required would require a sharp focus on activities that could make most immediate impact. In line with this, the Group agreed to prioritised 10 recommendations^[6]. The ambition was to ensure that New Deal for Business was more than the sum of its parts and delivered real world change.

This report looks at each of the six outcomes in turn and sets out what has been done, what it means for business, what’s next and what success looks like, to help us measure our continued progress towards these critical objectives.
