Fair Work First

The Fair Work First guidance outlines our Fair Work First approach and exemplifies the Fair Work First criteria in practice. It's used by those involved in awarding public sector grants, sponsorship, other funding, contracts, and those seeking to access such funding.

Successful applicants will be asked to provide a statement verifying their Fair Work First commitment and confirming it has been developed in agreement with the workforce. This is to be signed off by the relevant trade union where one is present, or workers representative(s) where there is no union present.

Wherever relevant and proportionate, applicants should also be asked to provide a written commitment to not using fire and rehire practice in order to be eligible for the grant in question, and this will be made a condition of the delivery of the grant in the subsequent grant award letter.
