Summary of the equality impact assessment (EqIA) undertaken to accompany the National Care Service Charter of Rights.
Reviewing and updating the EQIA
Charter implementation will take place throughout 2026-27. The EQIA will be a ‘live’ document that will inform this process.
During 2027 the Charter will be reviewed and updated, in line with the schedule for updating the NHS Patient Charter of Rights and Responsibilities. The EQIA will be updated at this point, to reflect the implementation process and to support the review of the Charter.
