GDP Monthly Estimate: July 2026

In the three months to July 2026, compared to the three months to April 2026:

• Scotland’s real onshore Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is estimated to have grown by 0.7%. This follows unrevised growth of 0.7% in the three months to June 2026 and unrevised growth of 0.5% in the three months to May 2026.

• Services sector output is estimated to have grown by 0.8%, while the production sector is estimated to have grown by 0.1%. Construction sector output contracted by 0.5%.

• The low level sectors which made the largest positive contribution to overall GDP growth were Professional, Scientific & Technical Services and Administrative & Support Services, both contributing around 0.2 percentage points towards headline growth. The Other Services and Education sectors made the largest negative contribution, both contributing around 0.1 percentage points.

Monthly GDP is estimated to have grown by 0.1% in July 2026, after 0.3% growth in June 2026 (revised down from 0.5% growth in our last publication) and unrevised 0.1% contraction in May 2026.
