Strategic commercial interventions: monitoring framework
Sets out best practice for the monitoring of commercial assets. The framework identifies the key data sources necessary to monitor strategic assets effectively, and sets out how summary monitoring reports can be compiled.
2. Background and purpose
The monitoring framework is a practical guide, primarily directed towards colleagues in the Strategic Commercial Assets Division (SCAD), and sets out best practice for the monitoring of commercial assets. It is also anticipated that the key principles set out in this guidance note will be applicable to other areas of SG and the wider public sector. The framework identifies, describes and explains the key data sources necessary to monitor SG’s strategic assets effectively, and sets out how summary monitoring reports can be compiled by sponsor teams using key metrics.
A separate workstream on corporate governance principles will set out key governance considerations to maximise the commercial return and public good benefits derived from an intervention – Developing Companies in Public Ownership to Deliver for The Public Good: Standard Operating Procedures.
