The Scope of the EQIA

In the development of the LHS guidance, we engaged with local authorities through Scotland Housing Network, the Association of Local Authority Chief Housing Officers, and Public Health Scotland. The guidance includes a refreshed focus on rural and island housing which was informed by extensive engagement on the Rural and Islands Housing Action Plan that was published in October 2023 and it reflects actions in the plan to refresh LHS guidance to include a focus on community-led housing and strengthen links at a local level between housing and the economy.

The LHS guidance is not new policy and does not introduce new legislation and it includes information on current Scottish Government national priorities, plans and targets.
