10. Register of Installation and Maintenance Licences

We are proposing the licence regulator must prepare and maintain a register of installation and maintenance licences that is made accessible to the public. This is to help monitor and enforce compliance with licences, and to facilitate the public having a better understanding of this emerging market. We propose the following information about each heat networks licence is to be contained on the register:

  • the name and address of the person to whom the licence was issued.
  • the terms of the licence, such as any special conditions or restrictions that apply. For example, if the licensee holds road works powers.
  • the date on which the licence commenced.
  • if the licence is not continuing, the date on which the licence ceased. This would only apply if the licence was revoked or surrendered.
