Annex B - Fair Work in Creative Industries Fund

The Fair Work in Creative Industries Fund would be finalised in design by the Fair Work Delivery Group utilising the guiding principles of the Fair Work Charter. This guidance is to support the structuring and set-up of the Fund, which is outlined in paragraph 113 in the Task Force recommendations report, together with a suggested initial envelope of between £250k - £500k per annum over five years, with the first year of funding (FY1) being the year the Delivery Group is established.

Purpose of the Fund

The Fund’s focus would be to support employers in embedding and advancing Fair Work within their organisation or business. This Fund should aim to foster collaborative approaches between employers and freelancers to support fair work policy adoption and fair work implementation. The Fund would not be limited to those already demonstrating Fair Work excellence but would be developmental with the intention to support learning and transformation.

The Fund would recognise that fair work will continue to evolve.

Eligibility

• Employers and organisations across the Creative Industries sector, such as enterprise bodies, development agencies, unions, and creative networks.
• Applicants would not have to already have comprehensive Fair Work policies in place; the Fund is intended to support those on their Fair Work journey.

Funding Priorities

• Bespoke application for support for enterprise or business to understand the specific fair work barrier for them to address.
• Particularly welcoming of social partnerships and applicants that propose to work in a joined up approach between organisations and freelancers.
• Awareness and informative educational outreach which address that fair work is about continual education and evolving through renewed learning and access to information for further or specific support.
