Errata

Please note that temporary accommodation figures (Scotland and Edinburgh) in tables 14 to 23 inclusive are now incorrect due to updated data received by Edinburgh. Please see the most recent report on Homelessness in Scotland: 2021/22 published on 18 August where revised data is included. Revised quarterly figures will be included in the next biannual publication scheduled for the beginning of 2023.

The reason for the update is that Edinburgh are now including Private Sector Lease (PSL) accommodation in their temporary accommodation statistics which they had not done before. This reflects a change in contract from 1 April 2020 to allow Edinburgh council to use PSL accommodation for immediate access temporary accommodation placements. Data has been backdated to 1 April 2020 so figures are on a consistent basis.

>Updated data has led to an increase of around 260 households in temporary accommodation in Edinburgh as at 31 March 2021.
