Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.
Information requested
Under FOI, please provide all expense claims and receipts for staff in the First Minister Private Office from November 2025 to date.
I will repeat that I expect to see all receipts as you ignored that the last time.
Response
I enclose a copy of the information you requested in Annex A relating to receipts. Please note the receipts have been typed up to avoid sharing personal information. In addition where claims are for motor milage no receipt is included, amount is based on distance travelled. The total amount of expense claims for the period November 2025 to 21st April 2026 is £966.11.
Some information has been withheld as an exemption under section 38(1)(b) (personal data) of FOISA applies to that information, relating to copies of expense claims, this is because it is personal data of a third party and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Article 5(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation and in Section 34(1) of the Data Protection Act 2018. This exemption is not subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption
