Documentation which mentions former First Minister Chief of Staff and former Special Adviser: FOI release

Information requested

1. Could you supply all documentation held by the Scottish Government that mentions Liz Lloyd, or is from/to her, including correspondence (including internal), minutes/notes from meetings, or briefings, from the last three months?

2. Could you supply all documentation held by the Scottish Government that mentions Kevin Pringle, or is from/to him, including correspondence (including internal), minutes/notes from meetings, or briefings, from the last three months?

Response

1. We have interpreted this request to mean correspondence, minutes/ notes from meetings or briefings that mention Liz Lloyd held by the Scottish Government from the last 3 months.

Please refer to the attached document which includes some of the information you have requested. Where there is indication of an attachment in an email I can confirm there is no mention of Liz Lloyd within the said attachment therefore is out of scope of your request. As a result of issuing some information at this stage, we are unable to provide some of the information because an exemption under section 38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA applies to that information, this is because it is personal data of staff below SCS grade and a third party and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Article 5(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation and in section 34(1) of the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. We have interpreted this this request to mean correspondence, minutes/ notes from meetings or briefings that mention Kevin Pringle held by the Scottish Government from the last 3 months. We have also interpreted this request to be about previous Special Adviser Kevin Pringle.

Please refer to the attached document which includes some of the information you have requested. As a result of issuing some information at this stage, we are unable to provide some of the information because an exemption under section 38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA applies to that information, this is because it is personal data of a third party and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Article 5(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation and in section 34(1) of the Data Protection Act 2018.
