Information requested
1. A list of all independent schools that have withdrawn from Scottish Teachers' Pensions Scheme (STPS) to the present date or date when FOI is actioned.
2. A list of any new independent schools who have intentions to withdraw from the STPS to the present date or date when FOI actioned.
3. A list of all those independent schools that remain within the STPS to the present date or date when FOI actioned.
Response
1. Detailed below is a list of the independent schools that have withdrawn from the Scottish Teachers' Pensions Scheme (STPS) to the present date. As a time period was not stated in the request, we have provided details of those schools who have withdrawn within the last 2 years.
- Hutchesons’ Educational Trust (1 September 2023)
- Kilgraston School (1 May 2024)
- St Mary’s School (Melrose) (1 January 2025)
2. To date, no further independent schools have formally notified SPPA of their intention to withdraw from STPS.
3. Please see attached list of independent schools that currently remain in the STPS.
