Breakdown of spending on Amazon Prime: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

I am writing under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 to request a breakdown of spending by the Scottish Government on Amazon Prime accounts for individual employees, as well as for departments and offices.

If possible, I would like the spend broken down for each of the past five years.

Response

The answer to your question is in the table below. The total value of spend from 20th September 2019 to 19th September 2022 on Amazon Prime is £5679.50.

01 April 2022 –19 September 2022

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have all of the information you have requested.

The information held centrally is from September 2019 to September 2022. Information on spend as requested was identified on the Government’s corporate credit card and the system that holds this financial information only retains it for three years. It does not provide a breakdown of spending per department.

We have therefore provided all of the available spend information covering 20th September 2019 until 31st March 2020 (FY 2019) and then in the following FYs for 2020 (01-04-2020 – 31-03-2021), 2021 (01-04-2021 – 31-03-2022) and 2022 (01-04-2022 to 19-09-2022) detailing each year’s annual spend on Amazon Prime.
