Information requested

A. How many air cleaning devices (such as HEPA filters) are currently in use in Scottish schools?

B. Has the Scottish Government or its agencies purchased any air cleaning devices (such as HEPA filters) for use in non-school locations (such as departmental offices) since 01/01/2019? If so, how many were purchased, what was the total cost, and for what uses/locations have the devices been acquired?

Response

A. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance, the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested. It is the statutory responsibility of local authorities to manage their school estate. Therefore, local authorities may be able to provide you with the information you seek.

This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.

B. The Scottish Government and its agencies have not purchased any air cleaning devices for use in nonschool locations, including departmental offices.
