Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002
Information requested
Please supply any and all recorded information showing the most recent funding to elderly, disability and nursing charities or organisations between 8/12/2018 - 8/12/2021 using public tax money in order to uphold human rights, prevent injury or stop death of the three mentioned groups due to COVID-19.
Response
Below is a table of Scottish Government funding for the period requested. This provides the Organisation, a brief outline of the project, the amount of funding provided and the relevant fund. As requested this is funding specifically related to COVID. I have included older people's and disabled organisations/charities and have included funding to organisations whereby the project is solely aimed at older people. There has been no COVID related funding to nursing charities or organisations.
Whilst I hope this information is helpful, I will apply Section 12 of FOISA to the remainder of the request due to the excessive cost of compliance. To explain, this is due to the volume of the information and the time it would take to locate all of the information.

Deafblind Scotland |
This funding is to directly cover high production costs specifically for producing regular key information on COVID-19 in different formats. Deafblind Scotland have other regular newsletters they send out, which would be the main method of distributing information going forward. However, in the current situation it is crucial that fast-changing information on COVID-19 is shared as quickly and as often as possible with people who are highly isolated and who acutely struggle to access information. Producing and distributing accessible information on COVID-19 topics in a range of formats that is accessible to people who are both deaf and blind, namely Braille and Moon, in XXL print, BSL videos or audio CDs. This currently has a reach of minimum 474 people, and is offered to other partner organisations for onwards dissemination. |
