Response

  • From 2017-2018 to the end of 2020-2021, the Scottish Government received a total of £194.8m in EU Exit preparation consequentials.
  • All EU Exit related consequentials have been absorbed into and deployed across the overall Scottish Budget.
  • Over the last year we have allocated our spend to deal with the concurrent impacts of Covid and EU Exit. All EU Exit related consequentials, and more, have been fully utilised to mitigate these concurrent risks and, as detailed in the table below, total spend of £256.7m outstrips what has been received.
  • Funding will be continue to be deployed in future years to mitigate the ongoing impact of leaving the EU.
