Information requested
How much money the Scottish government has paid to external PR companies in the years 2020 and 2021 to date and the nature of the campaigns that they have been employed to undertake directly relating to enhancing the image of the Scottish government.
Response
The Scottish Government publishes it’s media spend on an annual basis, broken down by financial year.
This includes PR spend, broken down by campaign. You can find links for the financial year reporting periods 2019-20 and 2020-21 below.

The total spend to date in 2021-22 (from 1 March 2021 to 31 August 2021) is £227,304. No marketing campaigns have been undertaken that directly relate to enhancing the image of the Scottish Government.
