Information concerning poverty related attainment gap in Scottish schools: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

Any internal Scottish Government communications (including letters and emails) concerning the poverty related attainment gap in Scottish schools. I would like to request with a timeframe of 10 March 2021 to 16 March 2021.

Response

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because an exemption under section s.38(1)(b) (personal information) and s.27(1) (intended for future publication) of FOISA applies to that information. The reasons why these exemptions apply are explained below.

An exemption under section s.38(1) and s.27(1) of FOISA applies to some of the information you have requested. Individual names and email addresses have not been provided and this exemption applies as it relates to personal information. Details relating to an intended future publication have not been provided and this exemption applies as it relates to a publication out with the requested timeframe.

This exemption is not subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.
