Response

The answer to your first part of the request asking for a copy of the Terms of Reference of the “Misogyny and Criminal Justice in Scotland Working Group" is that we have recently published the remit of the Working Group on the Scottish Government website. You can find this here: Misogyny and Criminal Justice in Scotland Working Group - gov.scot (www.gov.scot).

The answer to your second part of the request is that as part of the work being undertook for the Misogyny and Criminal Justice in Scotland Working Group, the Scottish Government have agreed, in principle, that Baroness Helena Kennedy QC will receive a daily rate of £1000. It is anticipated that time spent by Baroness Kennedy QC will equate to 2-3 days per month, for up to 12 months or less.

Members or advisors of the group will not be remunerated, other than necessary travel and accommodation expenses which will be met by the Scottish Government. We expect that travel and accommodation costs will be minimal, if any, whilst travel restrictions are in place.

Along with the Independent Chair, Baroness Kennedy QC, we have also commissioned an independent report writer for the Working Group. Associated fees and are yet to be confirmed, however, we hope to be able to confirm these in due course.
