This assessment is undertaken to estimate the costs, benefits and risks of the proposed boundary amendment for the West of Scotland MPA that may impact the public, private or third sector. It has been updated following public consultation.
Scottish Firms Impact Test
This section has been informed by evidence gathered during the consultation phase. All consultation responses have now been received, and no concerns were raised by businesses regarding potential economic or social impacts arising from the proposed boundary amendment. No meetings with affected businesses were requested during the consultation.
As such, the amendment of the West of Scotland MPA is not expected to result in any additional economic or social impacts on commercial fisheries or other sectors beyond those identified at the time of the site’s initial designation.
