Evaluation of the Community Reintegration Project

This is an evaluation of the Community Reintegration Project (CRP), which formed part of the Scottish Government’s wider Reducing Reoffending Programme (RRP) and focused on addressing the needs of offenders serving prison sentences between six months and less than four years.

Acknowledgements

The researchers would like to thank all those who contributed to or assisted with this evaluation of the Community Reintegration Project. First and foremost we would like to thank all those who took part in an interview: Scottish Prison Service staff, criminal justice social work staff, court staff, staff at different community agencies and individual CRP participants in each of the CRP pilot areas. We are grateful to all of them for sharing their views and experiences with the research team. We would also like to thank all those who assisted us in setting up interviews in each prison or local authority area, and who helped our fieldwork visits run smoothly.

Thanks are also due to David Gatherum, Sacha Rawlence and Lisa Taylor at the Scottish Government/Scottish Prison Service who oversaw the evaluation and provided support and assistance throughout the duration of the project.

Finally, we should also note the input and advice of our NatCen and ScotCen colleagues, and the hard work of those who transcribed the interviews.
