Environmental Protection (Single-use Vapes) (Scotland) Regulations 2024: enforcement guidance

A: Purpose of this Document

From 1 June 2025, it will be illegal for businesses to sell, offer to sell or have in their possession for sale all single-use or ‘disposable’ vapes across the United Kingdom.

This guidance is intended for local authority enforcement officers, for the purpose of enforcing the ban on the sale and supply of single-use vapes in Scotland. This document will cover key information regarding the forthcoming ban, the products covered by the Environmental Protection (Single-use Vapes) (Scotland) Regulations 2024 (“the Vapes Regulations”), and how the Vapes Regulations set out that the ban is to be enforced.
