Energy consents: how to apply

At this stage a report of the proposal and all opinions gathered during consultation are passed to the Scottish Ministers for decision. There is no timeline for ministerial decision making and the final decision will consider all responses and representations received and determine applications in context of statutory requirements and planning guidelines.

Ministers may either grant consent with or without conditions, refer to a public local inquiry, or reject the application.
