Additional Support for Funded Providers
- In addition to the sustainable rate, local authorities provide a range of benefits to funded providers. It is for local authorities to decide the best package to ensure high quality ELC provision is offered to children and families, based on their own local circumstances.
- This survey collected information on the general support packages local authorities are offering to their funded providers for the delivery of ELC. A range of approaches to the provision of support are in place across local authorities and can include, for example, training, targeted support, support visits, general support and advice from the early years team, pre and post care inspection support, financial support, funding for accredited qualifications professional learning and workforce support.
- The rates presented in this report should therefore be viewed within the context of the overall package offered by each local authority. A summary of the types of support offered can be found in Table C1.
- Table C1 displays a tick against each category where each local authority provides an additional support package. Table C1 displays an x where each local authority reported that they do not provide a specific area of support.
