Assessment of wellbeing - draft statutory guidance: consultation

This consultation paper is for the public consultation on draft statutory guidance on assessment of wellbeing, as required in the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014.

9. Subject to the outcome of legal proceedings before the Supreme Court, reporting duties under section 15 the UNCRC Bill will replace this duty. Section 6(1) of the UNCRC Bill will require public authorities not to act incompatibly with the UNCRC requirements. Section 15 of the UNCRC Bill will place a duty on listed authorities to report on what they have done in the previous 3 years and what they plan to do in the next reporting period to: (i) comply with the section 6(1) duty; and (ii) secure better or further effect of the rights of children.
