Building standards - compliance plan manager role: development of scope

To develop proposals for the Compliance Plan Manager (CPM) role on high risk buildings in Scotland and further develop the scope of the role.


Appendix 2 Detailed Review of Job Roles

1. The review of job roles (including development of a comparability matrix) is contained in the MS Excel workbook embedded below. This work directly informed early drafting of the CPM job role document and scoping discussions during the first Professional Body Group (PBG) meeting.

2. In the workbook, the first worksheet (Job Ads – Raw Data) sets out detailed information extracted from 25 job adverts/career information sources, including qualifications, experience, job-related skills, knowledge, cross-cutting/generic skills, membership, and other relevant information.[18]

3. The second worksheet (Job Ads – Summarised) follows a synthesis of the raw information to present a unique suite of statements according to those same categories.

4. The third worksheet maps information on duties/responsibilities to the Scottish Government’s preliminary proposals for the CPM role to identify overlaps and additional content considerations.

5. All information from this stage of the research fed into the first draft of the CPM role document which was tabled at the first meeting of the Professional Body Group (PBG).
